I had gone to the allotment with the hope of planting some onion sets. Instead I ended up pruning some of the large apple tree that was on the site of my plot long before it was an allotment . I also took the opportunity to remove the remaing apples and once home weighed them to find I had harvested 6.5 Kg . I took the chance to harvest the first lot of Jerusalem artichokes obtaining 500gms from just one plant.
As for the onion sets it looks like they'll have to wait for another day.
